Three Spice Mosaic: Fruit Salad Recipe

July 8, 2018

Cardamom, Cinnamon and Nutmeg:

Add these three spices to a mosaic of fruits for some zest in your summer meals.

I have been making this fruit salad since medical school for many pot luck parties, and it is always a delicious desert option. Another plus, it is super easy to prepare!

  • Pick any mix of your favorite fruits. I usually pick one container of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Depending on the season, I will add peaches or apples. Hull and quart the strawberries. Chop the bigger fruits like peaches and apples. Place all in a bowl.

  • Add to taste ground cardamom, nutmeg and cinnamon. Start with 1/8 teaspoon or even less. You can always add more.

  • Chop some mint leaves and place in the bowl.

  • Add fresh squeezed lemon juice.

  • Mix all together and enjoy!

Not only do these spices add extra zing for the taste buds, they have amazing health benefits for our overall well-being:

Cardamom: Useful aid for anorexia, colic, dyspepsia, indigestion; alleviates
mental and nervous exhaustion.

Cinnamon: Useful as an antiseptic for colds and flu; aids in dyspepsia, intestinal infection, anorexia, colitis, and diarrhea; alleviates nervous exhaustion.

Nutmeg: Useful as an analgesic for arthritis, gout, muscular pain, rheumatism; aids in indigestion and alleviates nausea; antiseptic to treat bacterial infections; alleviates nervous fatigue.
